Lars von Keitz Alternative Folk
From out of the Washington, DC Punk scene comes Lars von Keitz. In Chicago now for over two decades, Lars has been mining an Alternative Folk vein to bring forth raw, emotional, personal and social justice themed songs with infectious hooks. A veteran of the Chicago Open Mic scene, Lars hosted the OutMusic Queer Open Mic in Chicago at various venues for many years. Lars has played sets at: Wishbone, Silvie's, Elbo Room, the Old Town School of Folk Music, Red Line Tap, the Heartland Cafe, No Exit Cafe, Jarvis Square Pottery, Big Chicks/Tweet, Touche, among other venues. Lars is part of a weekly Open Mic group that has gone from 27 Live to The Grafton to On-Line, receiving accolades for the many songs he has birthed during the Pandemic. Currently Lars is working towards releasing his solo debut album.
